About me

My name is Sakhe Tshoni, I grew up in a small town of keiskammahoek in the Eastern cape, in a rural area of upper eMnyameni. I'm a multimedia story practitioner at Rhodes University. Listening to stories has always been something which from I have be fond of at a young age from Intsomi to stories on Television or Radio. Involving  myself in various social media platforms with content such as sport, politics and making myself aware of issues happening around the country and in the world.  I hope one day I could use story telling to push for change of how things are done in the country.

my Mission

  • My mission is to bring issues to the public and let the public decide for themselves of what is best for the country.

  • To provide a platform whereby public participation is emphasized.

  • Provide awareness that lack of information is dangerous and its time for us a media practitioner to make people aware of that.

  • To not only pay attention to a public issue when there is a protest or affect the majority of the population to make people aware of it right now.

  • To make people in power accountable for the shortfalls of what is happening in this country.

my Vision

As a media practitioner I want to focus on issues which concern the majority of the population:

  • reporting on those issues from the perspectives of citizens rather than politicians, experts and other elite actors

  • Offering citizens opportunities to articulate and debate their opinions on issues, elaborating on what citizens can do to address those issues.

  •  organizing sites for citizen deliberation and action such as roundtables, community forums and local civic organizations, and then following up on citizen initiatives through ongoing and sustained coverage.
