Audio is my life

I've always loved listening to audio, telling stories of people.

Following the Fees Must Fall protest former president Jacob Zuma announced that from 2018 going onwards Nsfas will be converted from a loan to a bursary. This meant that no student will be left out of the system if he/she is deserving. The bursary also was meant to decrease the burden of stress on student as they could now focus on academics only.  However, since it has been changed it created a number of issues for students and institutions. Therefore, the following two videos tell the stories of students who have experienced the shortfalls of Nsfas bursary.

Listen to some of my work

This is the story of Zingisa Noxova, a former Rhodes University student who was studying for a Bachelor of arts degree.  Since arriving at Rhodes in 2017, he has been funded by Nsfas. However, he was shocked to to be told in the middle of last year that he was no longer funded, for reason which even today does not even remember. Here his full story of the events that occurred. This story is told in Xhosa by the person affected.

The second audio is a sound rich narrated interview of a Rhodes University student Shaun Dennis. Shaun explains his own experience of Nsfas since it has been converted into a bursary.
